- 专辑信息： In London, two old, eccentric, and extremely wealthy British brothers, Oliver and Roderick Montpelier (Ronald Squire, Wilfred Hyde-White), drew a currency note for a million pounds from the Bank of England. They needed it to settle an argument. One of them believed that such a note would be useless to any poverty-stricken man; the other believed that just by possessing it one could live like a lord. They decided to test their theories; they stood in the veranda in search for the right person. At the moment a penniless young American seaman, Henry Adams (Gregory Peck) who was fortunate enough was passing the house of the brothers. The two rich gentlemen who had conceived the crazy idea of distributing a note worth one million pounds stopped the young man and asked him to go to stairs to have a talk.
